Personal loans in Michigan
Ask once. See who says yes.
$100 to $5,000. We are not a lender — we put one short request in front of the lenders in our network and let them come back to you.
How it works
Four steps, and you can stop at any of them.
- 1
You say what you need
An amount and two names. One page, no documents to upload, nothing to print.
- 2
We pass it down the channel
The request goes to lenders and lending partners in our network. We do not review it, score it or hold it back.
- 3
A lender answers you
Whoever wants to make an offer contacts you with their terms. They may run a credit check first, with your consent.
- 4
You take it or you turn back
Nothing is agreed until you sign a lender's agreement. Reading the offer and declining it costs you nothing.
Who can ask
Four things, and none of them is a credit score.
- Age
- 18 or older
- Residency
- A US address
- Income
- Money coming in regularly
- Account
- An open checking account
The legal minimum to enter a credit agreement in every state we serve.
We cannot pass requests from New York, West Virginia and Vermont.
A job, self-employment, a pension or benefits — a lender decides what counts.
It is how a lender would send funds and take a repayment.

What we never ask for
- A fee to use FundingRiver, ever — before, during or after
- Collateral, a car title or a co-signer
- A perfect credit score before you are allowed to ask
Anyone who contacts you asking for an up-front payment to release a loan is not us, and is not a lender we work with. Report it and stop.
What it costs
Nothing from us. Ever.
What FundingRiver charges you
$0
No fee to use this site and no fee at any later point. We are paid by a lender when a request we pass on results in a funded loan.

Before you sign
Four things to check on any offer.
- The APR, not the monthly paymentA small payment over a long term can cost far more than a larger one over a short term. The APR is the number that compares two offers.
- The total you will repayPrincipal plus every charge, by the end. A lender has to show it; if you cannot find it, ask before you sign.
- Anything deducted up frontSome lenders take a fee out of the amount they send. Borrowing $2,000 and receiving $1,850 is not the same deal.
- Whether they are licensed hereIt decides which ceiling applies to your rate — the card below sets out both.
Who sets your rate
The lender
Not us. Rates, fees and terms depend on the lender, on your creditworthiness and on your state, and they vary widely between the two.

Michigan ceiling
25%
A lender not licensed in Michigan may not charge more than 25% simple interest a year. Lenders licensed under the Regulatory Loan Act may exceed it on consumer loans up to $25,000 — so read the offer, and check the licence.
Questions
Straight answers.
If something here contradicts a document a lender sends you, the lender’s document governs your loan. This page governs nothing — it describes what we do.
Is FundingRiver the lender?
No, and this is the one worth reading twice. FundingRiver is an advertising and connection service. We pass your request to lenders and lending partners; they decide whether to offer you anything, and they set every rate, fee and term. We are not a party to the agreement you would sign.
Does filling in the form hurt my credit score?
No. Our form performs no credit check of any kind. A lender you are connected with may run one before making an offer, always with your consent — that inquiry belongs to the lender, and they will tell you what kind it is.
What does it cost me to use this?
Nothing, at any stage. If anyone contacts you claiming to be us and asks for a payment to release a loan, it is not us — stop, and write to help@fundingriver.net.
How much can I ask for?
Between $100 and $5,000. What you are actually offered, if anything, is the lender's decision and may be less than you asked for.
What is the most a lender can charge me in Michigan?
A lender that is not licensed here may not charge more than 25% simple interest a year — above that is criminal usury under MCL 438.41. A lender licensed under Michigan's Regulatory Loan Act may charge more on a consumer loan up to $25,000. Ask which one you are dealing with.
Am I committed once I submit?
No. You are committed when you sign a lender's loan agreement, and not before. You can read an offer, take your time with it and decline it, and that costs you nothing.
Which states are excluded?
We cannot accept requests from residents of New York, West Virginia and Vermont. Availability elsewhere depends on which lenders are licensed in your state.
One request
$100–$5,000and no fee to ask.
It takes a few minutes, it costs nothing, and it does not touch your credit score. What happens after that is a lender’s decision, and then yours.
